b. 1959. Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Zamani Romeo Makhanya is an artist and educator. He studied fine art at the University of Fort Hare before embarking on a teaching career at the Ntuzuma College of Education. Makhanya’s works give poetic form to ideas that relate to African culture, spirituality and aesthetics.
