Critical Epistemologies Workshop, DUT (2019)
A workshop featuring writers and artists held at Art for Humanity, Durban University of Technology, 25–27 October 2019. The workshop was a collaboration between ASAI and the Creative Knowledge Resources research project, led by Dr Nomusa Makhubu.
Lithography workshop, UCT (2018)
As with the earlier workshop, In Print (2014), this workshop brought together professional artists, mostly artists who have not had access to lithography, or who have limited access, whose work would adapt well to the medium. The workshop ran from 12 – 23 February 2018 and was a project of ASAI, in partnership with the printmaking department at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT; funded by the Western Cape Government (Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport). A special feature of this edition was that, with one exception, all of the invited artists had a historical relationship to the Community Arts Project, as past students and/or as facilitators. Short video-clips reflecting on CAP were produced during the workshop.
In Print workshop (lithography), UCT (2014)
In Print was a lithography workshop organized by ASAI, held at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT, from 17 to 28 November 2014. The workshop was designed for artists who had no prior experience of lithography, or had had limited access to the medium.
In Print/ In Focus, an exhibition featuring works from the workshop, along with George Hallett’s portraits of the artists, was held at the Michaelis Gallery in 2015.
